The major expected impacts of VISION-xEV are the following:

  • Substantial reduction in BEV and (P)HEV lead-time and time to market (-20%) with consistent or improved quality through digital integration of design with manufacturing and supply chain:
    This is demonstrated for Use-case 3 “Passenger car (P)HEV advanced ICE & AT system matching”: based on the coupling and co-simulation technology developed in VISION-xEVthe exchange and integration of component models originating from different suppliers is enabled at considerably reduced effort and increased robustness and accuracy.
  • Increasing multi-power platforms development efficiency at minimized costs despite increased complexity and modularity of xEV systems:
    This is demonstrated for Use-case 4 “HD HEV components and powertrain system architecture analysis”: based on the modular concept of the VISION-xEV framework, models representing the different xEV domains should be easily added, exchanged, updated, etc. to create models of arbitrary complexity, depending on the detailed task to be analysed.
  • Improved integration of suppliers, SMEs and research into the automotive product development leveraging the EU competitiveness.
    The integration of academia, research partners and end users is demonstrated mainly via Use-case 1 “Battery system / thermal management development” and Use-case 2 “xEV powertrain energy management optimization”.
