The activities related to project VISION-xEV are centred on four realistic Use-cases, which will serve as basis for the development of the virtual component layout and system integration framework.  The end-results of the project are demonstrated and validated and their expected impact is assessed for these use-cases in real-world driving scenarios.

The use-cases are:

  • Use-Case 1: Battery system /thermal management development
  • Use-Case 2: xEV-powertrain energy management optimization
  • Use-Case 3: After-treatment system definition for xEV application
  • Use-Case 4: Mid-size urban bus HEV components and system architecture definition

The project is divided into 8 Work-packages (WP), including Project Coordination (WP1) and Dissemination and Exploitation (WP8).

WP2 is dedicated to the definition of the project requirements and to the specification of the Use-cases.

WP3 to WP6 deal with the actual development of the generic virtual component and system integration framework for all kinds of future electrified powertrain systems.

The project results are demonstrated and validated in WP7 and the expected impact assessed for the Use-cases in terms of development cost gain.
